The Salida bungalow is a great home! Amazing location, we walked downtown and to the city park daily. We loved being able to store our mountain bikes in the mudroom and our dog enjoyed the fenced in backyard. The home is well appointed with the porch swing, board games, casual furnishings and everything we needed in a kitchen. It was nice to be able to do a load of laundry and this was a great home base for our long weekend in Salida. We saw elk daily in the neighborhood and it's a great place to call home for a vacation.

We love staying at Pinon Vacation homes. Everything was neat and tidy as always and in good condition. We didn't need any special help this time, except for a late checkout, which our host coordinator(?) Ellen helped me with. Pinon homes are always in great locations in town too! I would recommend them!

We loved staying at the Salida Bungalow. It was a great location and we could walk to restaurants. It had everything we needed and was very clean and tidy. We especially loved the backyard and spending time back there when we got home from hiking and biking. I would definitely stay there again.

We've been vacationing in Salida (or BV) for nearly 10 years now. For the past few years we've started renting from Pinon vs. some of the national, online brokerages because Pinon has been very accommodating and they communicate very well. We have never had an issue, which allows us to truly enjoy our vacation. We'll be back.
In terms of the Salida Bungalow, it's a very nice, quaint place. There's a very nice front porch for lounging, and the backyard is huge, which Cosmo--my dog--liked. It's an older place, but very comfortable for 3 adults. It's also very close to everything so we could walk, hike, or bike vs. getting in a car, which is key. We look forward to returning again (or to another Pinon property). Thanks.

This is our second time staying at this bungalow with our 2 labradoodles. They like the living space because they are used to watching movies with us and chilling on the wood floors. The house is very quiet, even the back yard is so quiet which really makes you feel like you are away from the city and it's big enough for the dogs to run around and it's fenced in. The only downfall is having to exit with the dogs on the side of the house and go through the gate to get to the backyard. I wish there was a back door to exit directly to the yard. The house is only like a 15 minute walk to the main Salida town strip and park. I'm sure we will be back

The Salida Bungalow was perfect for a getaway in Salida. The house is full of charm but also has many modern amenities (Smart TV! Soundbar! Internet!) The kitchen is fully equiped if you want to cook a lot. Beds were very comfortable and everything was extremely clean. I brought my dog along who loved the big fenced-in backyard while I sat outside and read. The location of the house is absolutely perfect, just a short walk from the shops and restaurants and Arkansas River. I will definitely stay here again and look forward to it!

The house itself was spacious with a great kitchen. The dvd collection was great for the couple of nights we stayed in. The backyard was probably the best part for me (table and chairs for us to drink coffee and a chiminea fire pit for the evening) and I know the backyard was my dog's favorite place (fetching and chewing on sticks). The beds in both bedrooms were comfortable.
The location was also great. The house is a 5-15 minute walk to restaurants, downtown shopping, and the river walk. No matter what else we ended up doing for a day, we began our day with a morning walk to the river and then downtown. It's also not very far from other places we like to visit. Buena Vista is about 30 minutes away. Another 30 minutes and you can be at Twin Lakes (one of my dog's favorite places to swim) and Leadville is a little further north. Florence and Canon City (Royal Gorge) are about an hour away. Another hour and you can be in Garden of the Gods (awesome place and also dog friendly). We didn't go rafting this time (too late in year) but rafting and other outdoor activities are abundant in the area. We really like the hiking trails in the area.
This house would be great for anyone but especially great for people who travel with their dog.

We were in town to visit friends, and this house met all our needs for the stay. Plenty of space for the two of us and our two dogs, both inside and out. Great location - We loved being able to walk to dinner, and my husband was able to just hop on his bike and hit the trails on S Mountain. Would definitely recommend a stay here.

Obviously, this place is fantastic. Instead of stating the obvious perks, I will make recommendations...
Walk everywhere in town. Say hello to the neighbors. Pet their dogs. Tell them to have a great day. Make eye contact. Connect!
Eat out. Sit at the bar. Engage in conversation with the people who work there and the other locals. Be kind.
Get in your car and drive in any direction. Explore. Take a random side road. You won't be disappointed.
Salida is small town culture! Community at its finest. Enjoy it, respect it, soak it in.
Oh, and please don't miss sitting on the front porch after dark when the S turns to a hear on S Mountain. That pretty much says it all about what this town embodies!

What a pleasant stay! This home has it all. The backyard is delightful, as are the neighbors. The heat was as expected in July, but the attic fan and floor fans keep the house comfortable. Closing the curtains on the side the sun is shining in helps keep the temperatures in the comfort range. Last night an amazing thunderstorm developed over the mountains to the east. It was a display of nature at its most powerful expression with lightening in the clouds. The night was clear above us, so we sat on the sidealk to enjoy the display. If here on a Saturday, go to the Farmers Mket in Alspine Park. The park is just 2 blocks west of the house. Enjoy seeing the deer everywhere in Salida. Even in theneightbors yard chewing on vegetation. The Firefly Restaraunt is a great place to eat. Patio Pancake is a MUST while in Salida. It is frequented by the locals, as well as visitors. Amicas and Moonlight both have great menues. Currents serves great fish tacos. When at Amicas buy their flavored oil to spice up your life when you return home. Safeway and Walmart will provide what you forgot. Thanks for the lovely stay- we love Salida and return several times a year. This home is one of our favorites.

This was our second stay at the Salida Bungalow and we loved it as much as the first time! It was clean, comfortable, and close to everything going on downtown. We ran out of propane for the grill and put in a request for another tank. Within a few hours, someone came to deliver it! We thoroughly enjoyed having coffee on the porch in the morning and meals in the lovely, secluded back yard in the evening, when the weather permitted. We will probably not return to the Salida Bungalow as we are in the process of buying a house in Westcliffe but we will have fond memories of our stay there.

Great stay. enjoyed the backyard and ample space inside the house. other than the midnight battery fail of the bedroom smoke detector this was a flawless stay. hot water was plentiful and the heat worked great. didn't use the kitchen much.

This house was very nice and cozy. Perfect for a couple plus friend or a small family. Our dog thoroughly enjoyed the backyard. Every morning when we would let him out he would run right for the back gate. Great view of S mountain and the resident deer. Pinon vacation rentals were very accommodating and helpful. We enjoyed our stay at the Salida Bungalow and loved the fact it was dog friendly with a fenced yard. The kitchen was well furnished for cooking at the house. We were very impressed with how clean it was and loved the homey feel with the pictures and cute sayings of "walk the dog", "ride your bike" and the notes left on the chalkboard in the kitchen. Nice touches...great seating area outside! Might check on mosquitoes--they seemed to be abundant!
Several things we did notice:
Had to go out and purchase toilet tissue, kleenix (1 box) and paper towels as there was either none supplied there or had been listed available but couldn't find it. We left these all at the house for the next guests. Front porch light is burned out and the DVD player indicated loading but would never start the movie. Great selection of movies though! We enjoyed the game cabinet!
Thanks for making our stay there wonderful! The attic fan worked great and cooled off the house quickly!
We will recommend to other family members and friends to stay there!

The Salida Bungalow was just what we had hoped! A cute thoughtfully equipped little house that had everything we needed for our stay. Everything was in walking distance (or biking distance, thanks to the cruisers at the house!) and we could enjoy Colorado out doors from the relaxing covered front porch to the sizeable backyard with table, chairs and BBQ! Nice quiet, safe neighborhood in a relaxed town.

I stayed in the Salida bungalow for 5 days with my wife and 2 teenage sons. We went rafting (Royal Gorge, drove to the Dunes, and went on several hikes. (incl a 14'er) This is a great location, in the central area of a very nice small town. Very walkable for dining, and enjoying the river as it passes through town. The house was clean, well equipped, quiet, and very comfortable.
