This is our 7th or 8th Labor Day get together at the Parkside house. It's a large, well-situated Victorian style home directly across the street from Alpine Park. On Saturdays, a farmers market is steps away from your front porch and two blocks down the street is the start of Salida's delightful downtown and the Arkansas River. Over those several years, our group of six adults, two tweens and a dog have always found Parkside to be perfect.

Parkside was the perfect home for our family vacation with young kids (7 people total). We could easily walk downtown for meals, coffee, shopping, and river access. The park across the street was a hit with the kids as well as the wildlife that roam the neighborhood. The house was well-stocked with everything we needed to prepare meals. The beds and linens were comfy. The attic fan upstairs kept us cool at night despite warms temps outside. We would definitely stay here again!

Our daughter needed a babysitter while she and her husband attended a weekend of wedding festivities. Grandma and grandpa volunteered and what a beautiful time we had not only with the visiting family but cousins from Denver who joined us. The house was ABSOLUTELY charming and met every need. The location couldn't have been better...a playground/park for the kids right across the street and a very easy walk to town and the river. The time of year....early October delivered a perfect, crisp, colorful weekend in the mountains.

My girlfriends and I enjoyed staying at the rental at 448 F st. It was clean and very quant. The location was perfect. From there you can walk to the river in a very short time. This remains our destination for an annual family get together. Six adults, two tweens and large, friendly dog fill the house for several days around Labor Day. The house itself is roomy, well cared for configured so 8 people and a dog can have privacy when needed, or gather together for projects or socializing. Its location across from Alpine Park (and the Saturday Farmer's Market) as well as just a couple of blocks from Salida's lovely downtown and the Arkansas river makes spontaneous adventures in eating or recreation so simple. A really wonderful place for a getaway.

Very clean and well-equiped home a few blocks from city center and across the street from a park. Hosts were very attentive and responsive. Kitchen stocked with all your cooking needs. Lots of DVDs and games provided as well as fenced back yard with seating. Front porch offers a great spot to sit and watch the passersby.

What a wonderful home! Close to everything in Salida and well set up to cook meals for our 3 generation of family. We did eat out for dinners but breakfast was at home! Lots of room to spread out and play games. Our second time renting here and we will be back!

Lovely home. Perfect location, easy walk to everywhere in town. Great backyard and couldn't be better for dogs. Upstairs bathroom could use an upgrade. It's great to have a house that sleeps 11, yet 2 bathrooms to serve that many is a bit of an ask. We had 5 in the house and as we all used the shower downstairs only, it was a bit of a shuffle, however, it's a lovely shower. Kitchen is great. Large dining table is awesome and outdoor eating space is wonderful. The owner is right next door and is very friendly and accommodating.

We were in Salida for a family wedding, and this house was the perfect spot for us. It is right across the street from the park, so we enjoyed the Farmers market on Saturday morning. It is very close to town where all the wedding activities were, so it was very easy to walk there. I would highly recommend Parkside. If we ever make it back to Salida, which I want to do, we will be sure to stay there.

We visited Salida for a Monarch ski reunion, where we skied long ago during our high school days. Location and house worked well for group of six adults. Communication with property management was good — a circuit breaker issue was quickly remedied. Will use the property again if a similar need arises. Thank you!

We loved Parkside and Pinon Vacation Rentals is a great company to work with. It was our first time in Salida and we loved it. Parkside is a historic home. I think it was built in 1905. It is only a four or five block walk to the center of town.

Our family discovered Salida several years ago as a lovely town for an annual family gathering. This home is perfect for our needs -- 8 humans and 1 dog! The home sits across the street from Alpine Park and is just blocks away from downtown Salida and all of its offerings. There is a Safeway two blocks away, and a host of restaurants and shops down the street. The home is charming, nicely appointed and well cared for. Whether we are having coffee on the front porch or grilling in the backyard, we're happy here.

Loved this corner house right across the street from Salida‘a beautiful park. The house was well stocked especially the kitchen. Our pets loved it and it had everything you need for your guests and fur guest. Will definitely stay again. Everyone had room to stretch out and bedrooms were so cute and comfortable. The backyard was good and hopefully the construction will be finished when we plan our next trip. Short walk to town we loved everything about this place and town. Shout out to Independent Whitewater for an awesome rafting trip.

House had everything that a large family or group would need. I realized after booking that the house didn't have air conditioning so we took box fans from home. No need for our own fans except a small one in one of the bedrooms. Fans were provided. All supplies to include dog towels were provided. Great outdoor eating area with gas grill. We thoroughly enjoyed.

The home is amazing, spacious, and has everything a person vacationing in Salida could need. It is short walk from historic downtown (2 blocks), hiking, mountain biking, or trail running on S Mountain (6 blocks), and the Arkansas river for kayaking, SUPing, or rafting. (6 blocks). It is easy to walk to the grocery stores, restaurants, shops, yoga studios, and riverfront. It is across the street from a park that hosts the local farmer's market starting in June. The kitchen has everything you need whether you are making a meal, or baking desserts. The outdoor space is amazing; with an outdoor table that seats 10. There is even a setup for cornhole, a fishing pole, and extra towels and bedding supplies if you bring your dog. I did several video chat tours with friends and family while staying here and will definitely recommend and rent this vacation property in the future for friends and family.

The Parkside home is perfect for a group gathering. Our friends were amazed at how close we were to downtown! We were in walking distance to our favorite Brewery/Pizza restaurant, only blocks away from the park and all other downtown restaurants, and we could not believe our luck to wake up to the farmers market literally outside our door! The neighbor is still very quiet, even with all the wonderful locations at our fingertips.
The Home itself has everything…from cooking utensils, to amble room to dine inside and outside, to dog bowls, games…I was amazed at how “complete” the home was for us and our guests. Everyone appreciated having their own bedroom and felt they had more than enough room to not feel crowded in the home.
We love Salida, but now we cannot imagine doing Salida without staying at Parkside.

Our group of 6 included 4 adults, 2 kids and 2 dogs and there was plenty of space and amenities for all of us. It's not easy to find spacious houses in Salida that will fit a group this size but yours was just what we wanted. Everything was well thought-out (and well labeled!) and we were very comfortable. We cooked at home several nights and found all of the pots, pans and spices that we needed; we watched some of your DVDs (great selection!) in the spacious living room, and we sat outside and watched the stars at night from the back yard. The house couldn't be in a better location for enjoying a walk to town, the farmer's market, the grocery stores, the bike trails, the dog park…you name it! We wouldn't change a thing in the house and we highly recommend it to anyone coming to Salida.

The home was immaculately clean and organized. The location cannot be beat! Just a brief walk down F street, and you are in the heart of downtown. All cabinets and drawers are labeled, so there is no confusion where items need to go. We hope to stay here again next summer!

We couldn't have been happier! The home is well laid out, had everything we needed including plenty of bedrooms and beds for all. Within a few blocks is downtown Salida with all its great restaurants and cute shops. It's also across the street from a park that we frequently saw deer at while sipping our morning coffee from the front porch. We can't wait to go back! Highly recommend!

We had a fantastic weekend stay at Parkside in Salida! As a frequent traveler who routinely uses short-term rentals as a way to get a more authentic feel for the cities in which I travel, I can honestly say that this home was the most comfortable and accommodating place I've had the pleasure of staying in. It was a great fit for our family and it is very dog-friendly, as well.
Not only does the home have a lovely, historic feel to it, but the attention to detail in outfitting it for guests was incredible! The home has great proximity to Salida's charming downtown, which sets this home up as an ideal place to stay and get a sense of what it's like to be a Salida resident during your stay. Walking to and from the shops and restaurants is a breeze, and being across from the park (where you'll probably see some deer from time to time) is a real treat!
The house was very welcoming, clean and well-equipped with all the things travelers would need - comfortable beds, clean towels and linens, a kitchen with all the necessities, good WiFi, and plenty of space to spread out and work-from-home, if desired. There's a great front porch, more than ample, comfortable spaces for hanging out and multiple areas for enjoying a meal with friends or family, both inside or outside in the backyard.
If you're looking to spend some quality time in Salida, I think you'd be hard pressed to find a nicer place to stay!

We are a group of ladies that reunite every year and this year we stayed at Parkside, so glad we picked this place. We enjoyed so much about this house. The location couldn't be better, we were just 2 blocks from downtown and right across the street from the most beautiful park. It was so nice to watch the local deer walk by the house. Had a great time cooking together and eating outside in the courtyard, we had such a lovely time. The house is Victorian and beautiful, we felt like we had step back in time. Thank You!
