My experience at Heister House was smooth. We had not problems in this house whatsoever. Arrival and departure was flawless. The location of this house is a great one. It is close to downtown without being too close and access to the highway is quick without having to get into heavy traffic to get there. The wildlife that would come and play in the yard was definitely fun to watch in the mornings while having coffee. Because of all the antiques in the house, I do not believe that I would recommend children, but for adults, they will enjoy many of the furnishings and the trip down memory lane.
Clean and Excellent Location!
Brian)
The Heister house is in an excellent location. Salida is just a few blocks away so you can walk to restaurants, the grocery store, bars, shopping, etc. It was very clean and Pinon Rentals was a great company to work with, much better than dealing with VRBO.
Catherine)
The house was beautiful, the furnishings were wonderful, and the space was clean. We could walk to the local coffee shop every morning and then watch a doe and her twin fawns eat grass in the yard.
Amazing Historical Home!
Joe)
This home is a step back in the past. The furniture is spot on with the architecture. My family had a great time exploring and it was really cool to hear my older parents recall what things were like when they were kids. This home is almost 70 years old and most of it is original.
Awesome!

Awesome place!
Loved it!

This rental was JUST what I needed at the time! It's unique and full of an ambiance all its own. Being a child of the 50's & 60's, the house was a step back in time. I never lived in a house as "fashionable" as a kid, but so many aspects of the house are reminders of an era of great innovation and fascination with the" Future", anyone interested in architecture and history will be intrigued.
Plus, it's comfortable and functional, and close to downtown Salida & the river. With 2 rooms on one side of the house and the 3rd bedroom on the opposite end, plus the den downstairs, it's quiet and enables both gathering together or the space to have privacy. I fell in love with it to be honest. I want to live in the Heister House!
Hester House stay

The Hester House is a fantastic house with so much character! We felt spoiled being surrounded by the beautiful art collection featured throughout the house.A great location and plenty of space for 6 adults, a dog and plenty of gear for playing in Salida... bikes, skis, etc. Thanks for sharing your home with visitors!
We'd Stay Here Again For Sure!

Staying in a unique historical house with easy walking to downtown Salida was wonderful. I wanted to stay home Christmas week, so to enter the house to find a wreath on the door and a decorated tree in the living room, made all the difference for our family. The grocery store is a block away and we grilled outdoors on Christmas Day! There were six of us and the lower level with a large TV was used every night. We cooked, went to restaurants, bars, brewerys, did a carry out, went bowling, hiked, walked to town every day, skied, shopped, and loved the cozy friendliness of Salida.
